Rose Marie Connally
A rose was added to the garden of Heaven on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 when Rose Marie Connally, 92, of Port Neches, Texas entered her eternal home. She was surrounded by love and prayer. Her body was taken, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She was loved by so many. Rose was born September 29, 1929, in Port Neches to the late Wallace and Lilly Broussard. She married Dick P. Connally and has been a lifelong resident of the Mid-County area. She was a graduate of St. James High School in Port Arthur. Rose worked at the Department of Agriculture until she became a full time wife and mother. She is a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
Rose was a loving wife and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her greatest joy and passion in life was her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She had a strong faith which she passed onto her family.
Rose is survived by her two sons, Mike Connally and wife Leslee of The Villages, FL and Chris Connally of Jasper, Texas and one daughter, Jill DeCuir and husband Ray of Nederland; She also leaves behind to cherish her memory three grandchildren, Lorial Pelton and husband Bryan of Charlotte, TN; Daniel Moore and wife Rachel of Naples, FL; Scott DeCuir and wife Liz of New Braunfels, TX; five great-grandchildren, Jordon, Nolan, Kinley, Bondurant, and Micayla.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of sixty years Dick P. Connally; her precious daughter, Kim Connally Sage; brother, Edward (Dewey) Broussard; sisters, Phoebe Dever and Karmen Musslewhite; daughter-in-law, Juliette Connally; granddaughter, Alexa White. Oh what a glorious reunion she had as she entered Heaven’s gate. Her face glows with the love and light of Jesus Christ.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00a.m. with Fr. Jim McClintock presiding. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life will be held at Levingston Funeral Home 5:00p.m. To 6:00p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022 with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. followed by a tribute to honor Rose.
