Rosemary "Rosie" Martindale

Rosemary "Rosie" Martindale, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Port Arthur Community Retirement Home. "Love is the emblem of eternity; it confounds all notion of time; effaces all memory of a beginning, all fear of an end" by Germaine De Stael. Rosie was born September 23, 1925 in Scott, Louisiana to Oliver John Venable and Milda Mary LeBlanc Venable. She was a lifelong Port Arthur resident and member of St. James Catholic Church. Rosie's family and friends were the most precious things to her. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to crochet and adored cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arthur Martindale and sister, Ada Parker. She is survived by her daughter, Molly Ann Martindale of Port Arthur; son, Mike Martindale of Port Neches; two grandchildren, Heather Ann Martindale of Port Arthur and Kaitlyn Rachele Martindale of Mena, AR. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Curtis Broussard, Jason Guidry, Evan Little, Philip Nimley, Bruce Oler, and Lionel Vaughn.

I am a Volunteer with Gentiva Hospice. Mrs Martindale had just been assigned to me for visits. I am sorry to hear of her loss. May God Bless her family in this time of grief.

So very sorry to hear of Aunt Rosemary's passing, she was a wonderful lady, sweet and so very kind. She will be truly missed by many. Prayers to all, especially her granddaughter Heather. God Bless
