Rosie Graffagnino, 89 of Groves passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Harbor Hospice. She was born September 23, 1922 in Patterson, Louisiana to Frank and Lucy Lipari. She married Steve Anthony Graffagnino and moved to Port Arthur in 1946.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Father Michael Russo celebrant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home in Nederland from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m.She was a parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves, and a member of the Altar Society and the Harvest Club.She was a loving wife and a proud mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to her Savior and to her family and lovingly and selflessly cared for her invalid daughter, Lucy for 21 years. Rosie is now reunited in heaven with her husband precious daughter six brothers, Leo Lipari, Mike Lipari, Luke Lipari, Jake Lipari, Joe Lipari, and Tony Lipari and sister, Frances Ashton. To the delight of her family, until she was 86 years old, she joyfully cooked dinner every Sunday for her entire family. She touched the lives of so many people with her generosity and tender heart. Her interests were church, family, cooking for others, and playing Bingo and looked forward to attending Groves Senior Citizen daily.Rosie is survived by her son, Joe Graffagnino and wife, Laurie and daughter, Rose Marie LeJeune and husband Lurlan. She leaves behind four grandchildren, David LeJeune and wife, Amy, Derek Graffagnino and wife Kristi, and Loren and Alyssa Graffagnio and three greatgrandchildren, Logan and Libbie LeJeune and Maddi Graffagnino. God blessed the family with a special caregiver, Pat Robinson, who after two years of lovingly caring for their mother became a part of the family. We also want to thank all the other caregivers who sat with our mother during her illness.
