Roy was a regular at our house in the late 50's & in the 60's. I would walk in and he would be sitting in our kitchen talking to one of my brothers & my mom. He was a really nice guy. Gaile, our sincere condolences to you & your family. Praying that God gives you peace and strength during your grief. RIP Roy.

I am sorry to hear of Roy's passing. Roy was my first training officer at PAPD in 1983 and he introduced this yankee boy fresh out of the army to boudin and cracklings - the only way to start a patrol shift. I learned about PA, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Johnson, how to make roux and to pronounce the name Benoit correctly from Roy. You will be missed my friend.

Every kid had a home, job, car. He always made it happen They were blessed to have him. He was a very proud father, Grand and great grandfather. Gaile and Roy were truly devoted Parents and partners. Roy was my brother in law through Gaile's sister Nell, my wife. He always made me feel like part of their family for over 50 years. We enjoyed many happy times in their home during holiday visits and at the beach during our many vacations together. Our daughter, Amy, had many fond memories of her time with her cousins, Roy and Gaile's children. Roy was always thinking of and doing for everyone else. He was very proud of his service to his country in the Marines and his service to the community as a police officer. Coming back to Port Arthur for visits will never be the same without Roy there.

David and I have many good memories of Roy. He was an excellent friend and co-worker. I had the pleasure of working with him for over 20 years and David even longer. We enjoyed the times we bumped into each other in a store after we were no longer working at PAPD. He and Gaile are a couple we feel honored to call our friends. Smooth sailing Roy. I know you'll be protecting your family as you protected others as a police officer. R.I.P.
