Ruby Tschatschula Kasper, 92, of Port Arthur, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was born on August 13, 1920 in Warda, Tx. to Wilhelm H. and Theresa Medack Tschatschula and had lived in Port Arthur since 1948. A life long Lutheran she was baptized and confirmed in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, Texas. On November 24, 1940 she married Alfred John (Joe) Kasper of Winchester, Texas. Mrs. Kasper served as a volunteer with mentally retarded children for 33 years. She also volunteered with the United Board of Missions "Meals On Wheels "program and was active in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Groves with Reverend Richard Turner officiating and Reverend Dan Elkins assisting. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Mrs. Kasper was preceded in death by her husband, and her three sons, Virgil Kasper, Kenneth Kasper, and A.J. Kasper, Jr. She is survived by three daughters, Geneva Elkins and husband, Dan of Olive Branch, MS., Kathy Wingate and husband, Dan of Port Arthur, TX., and Doris Kasper of Port Arthur, three grandchildren, Terri Dehning and husband, KC, of Logansport, IN., Peggy Watson and husband, David of Collierville, TN., and Matthew Elkins and wife, Jana of Southaven, MS., and thirteen great grandchildren. Kathy, I just picked up the email from Candy that your mother passed away. Your parents were always good to me and i would have made the funeral had i known. I would have liked to seen Geniva's and her family (as well as you and Dan). May God be with yall during this difficult time. I see where Dan assisted with the service. I attended Harry Kasper's service a year or so ago where Donnie presided.
