Russell Paul "Butch" Brignac, Jr. beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away on March 15, 2020 in Pasadena, Texas. Born on September 18, 1950, Butch lived a life filled with love, generosity, and a passion for his family.
Butch was a hardworking individual who dedicated his career to serving various industries. He began his professional journey working alongside his father at Commercial Metals before joining Johnson's Glass in Pasadena. Later, he became the head material handler at Centerpoint Energy and retired from NRG in 2015. Throughout his work life, Butch showcased a strong work ethic and commitment that earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Education played an important role in Butch's life as well. He graduated from Nederland High School in 1970 and continued his studies at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. It is during this time that he developed strong foundations for success in both his personal and professional life.
Butch was a big guy with and even bigger and very generous heart. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Butch will remember him for his kind heart and warm personality. He possessed a genuine love for his family and always went above and beyond to ensure their happiness. His generous nature touched the lives of countless individuals around him.
In his leisure time, Butch enjoyed indulging in good food with loved ones while passionately supporting the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. Whether it was celebrating victories or enduring defeats together, these sports teams held a special place in his heart.
Butch is survived by his cherished wife, Barbara; his stepdaughter, Edie Steer and her children, Allison, Paige and Seth; sister, Wanda Nicklebur and her husband, Jimmy of Nederland; his brother, Michael A. Brignac, Sr., and his wife, Norma of Friendswood, Texas; as well as his sister, Toni Serena and her husband, Bob of Charlotte, NC. He was predeceased by his father, Russell Paul Brignac, Sr.; and his mother, Dorothy Brignac. Butch's loving spirit and warm presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
