Russell Adam Cessac, 62, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters.
He was born on July 25th, 1959, in Port Arthur, Texas to Horace and Lorraine Cessac. He was a graduate of Nederland High School and retired from Plant Protection at Goodyear Chemical Plant.
With a heart of gold, Russell never met a stranger. He was an imperfectly perfect man who loved So big. A champion for the underdog, it was nothing for him to give you the shirt off his back, the last dollar in his pocket, or bring you home for Christmas dinner. He was a simple man who will be remembered for his love of all things Nederland Bulldogs, fishing with his best buddy, his big brother Oscar, and riding Motocross. Oh how he loved to dance. No one passed up the opportunity to join him on the dance floor. You could always find him sitting on the back porch telling stories, making music on his guitar and throwing his head back with his contagious laugh.
Russell was most proud of his family. He was always their biggest fan and never missed an opportunity to brag about them to a stranger and most importantly to tell them how much he loved them. The only thing he loved more than his three daughters, were his pride and joy, his six granddaughters who thought he hung the moon. He was married to the love of his life, his beautiful wife Loretta for 43 years.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Loretta Cessac of Nederland, daughters, Andrea Guidry and husband Brad of Nederland, Amanda Sterling and husband Larry of Bridge City and Victoria Aycock and husband Justin of Nederland; granddaughters, Evyn Guidry, Austyn Guidry, Mia Sterling, Maci Sterling, Sawyer Aycock and Nora Aycock; sisters Becky Hansen of California and Debbie Cessac of San Antonio; brothers Oscar Cessac of Nederland and Alex Cessac of Bandera; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace Cessac and Lorraine Theriot Cessac.
"I don't have much, but I'll give you what I got."
A gathering of family and friends, in Russell's honor, will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Russell's Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Melancon's Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 a.m.
