Ruth Ellen Crochet

Ruth Ellen Crochet, 79, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, November 14, 2016. Ruth was born July 18, 1937 in Port Arthur, Texas to Dudley Benton and Lucy Conner Benton. She was a lifelong area resident and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lester Crochet. Survivors include her daughters, Renee Hawthorne of Kirbyville, Jeri Kelley and her husband Jervis of Groves; sons, Mike Ballard of New Richmond, WI, Lindy Ballard of Fort Smith, AR; step-daughters, Denise Harris of Lumberton, Tracy Doucet and her husband Kenny of Nederland; step-sons, David Crochet and his wife Vickie of Hemphill, Bradley Crochet and his wife Willoughby of Orange, and Ernest Crochet of Groves; sisters, Virginia Moore of Groves, Betty Gomez of Georgetown, Nancy Gates of Village Mills, and Carol LeBlanc of Port Arthur; brother, Tommy Benton and his wife Sheila Claude of Groves; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
