Ruth Ann Parker

Ruth Ann Parker, 87, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Ruth was born on May 31, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas to Faye Iris Black Clayton and Kenneth Charles Clayton. She was a wife, mother and housewife who loved her family dearly. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nederland. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles; looking up information on her I-Pad; playing solitaire and watching her mystery shows on TV. Ruth loved people, never meeting a stranger and she always made people feel good with her laughter and kindness. Most of all she loved her family. She was called Aunt Rudie and Nana and even Nana Ruth by her numerous family members who she loved dearly and they loved her back.

Ruth is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Jim Parker of Nederland; sister, Karen Fredeman of Nederland; other family members who called her Aunt Rudie were her nephews, Bill Fredeman and his wife Margo and their son Harrison, Ken Fredeman and his wife Morgan and their children, Ava and Ana, Milly, Walter and Hudson; Steve Fredeman and his son Drake; Brad Fredeman. Those who called her Nana were Sandra Powell; Amy and Brian Duplantis and their children, Lauren and her husband Lane and daughter Missy; Bailey Mitchell and her husband Caleb and daughter Jane; Jake Duplantis and his wife Ali. Those who called her Nana Ruth were Monica Roles-Grafton and her husband Kelly and her daughters, Cheyenne and Ciara. Ruth also had a host of very close friends who loved and adored her.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Faye Clayton; son James David Parker; father and mother-in-law, Virgil James Parker and Thelma Christine Parker.

A gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Bill Fredeman, Kelly Grafton, Brian Duplantis, Kenneth Fredeman, Steve Fredeman, Jake Duplantis and Brad Fredeman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harrison Fredeman and Drake Fredeman.
