Ruth Marie Wolfe

Ruth Marie Wolfe, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at her lake home in Woodville, Texas.

Ruth was born April 28, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas to Oscar Carl Walther and Grace Cooper Walther. She was a lifelong area resident and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joe Billy Wolfe; son Jonathan Wolfe; and granddaughter, Stephanie Wolfe.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Wueller and husband Butch of Woodville; sons, Mark Wolfe and wife Nancy of Woodville, Kirby Wolfe and wife Patti of Groves, and Chris Wolfe and wife Donna of Groves; daughter-in-law, Ruthie Wolfe of Groves; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5801 West Jefferson Street, in Groves, Texas followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Timothy Dinger officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.

One memory of Ruth that I chuckle about happened when we ere relatively new to the church and we went on a family trip. We ended up in New Braunfels Tx. We came back and started to share about a great bakery that Luther had found. Ruth took me aside and in a stern voice said, "You're new here so you need to know that when you go to this bakery you take orders for apple strudel before you leave.". Then she gave me that big smile of hers and a hug. We followed her advice from then on.
