Ruth Elaine Zampini, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, in Groves, Texas. Born on November 20, 1941, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Ruth lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family. Her warm spirit and generous heart touched everyone she met.

Ruth found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was renowned for her culinary talents, always delighting in cooking and baking for her loved ones. Her hands were rarely still, as she also found great satisfaction in sewing and crocheting, creating beautiful items that will be cherished by her family. Above all, Ruth treasured the time spent with her family, especially the visits from her grandchildren, which brought her immeasurable happiness.

Ruth is survived by her loving daughters, Lori Michele Zampini Morris and her husband, Michael of Groves, and Melanie Zampini Hare of Lumberton. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Garrett Reed Duplantis, Ashlee Marie Gober and her husband, Dustin, and Bianca Delane Runnels and her husband, Raymond. Her great-grandchildren, Kahlan Marie Gober, Austin Riley Jones, Amber Lee Gober, Raylee Jo Jones, Leigha Mae Gober, and Travis Aiden Gober, will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Ruth was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Philip Wayne Zampini, her parents, Emick Prejean and Ida Miller Prejean, her brothers, Vernon Prejean and Norman Prejean, and her sisters, Ann Cotter and Betty Demarsais.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland, 1605 Avenue H, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am, with the funeral service to begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
