Sadie Iris Brown Myers, 89, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Port Neches, Texas died peacefully Sunday, July 31, 2011 at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sadie was born May 22, 1922 in Socastee, South Carolina to William S. Brown and Mary Mishoe Brown. She graduated from Socastee High School where she lettered in basketball. On May 22, 1943 she married James L. Myers, Sr. in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Sadie enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning her own produce, deer hunting, traveling and was an avid Bridge player. Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Otto officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Myers, Sr., brothers, Thurman Brown, Richard Brown, sisters, Ellen Brown and Gladys Plowden, son-in-law, Claude Stone. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Stone of Houston, Texas; sons, James L. Myers, Jr. and wife, Linda of Port Acres, Texas and Gary W. Myers and wife, Marilyn of Port Neches, Texas; sisters, Irene McCormick, Ernestine Campbell and Rena Mae Bellamy all of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brother, Christopher McCormick and wife, Hilda of Socastee, South Carolina; grandchildren, David Stone of Houston, Shannon Myers Frederick and husband, Roy of Houston, Kathryn Stone of Houston, Josh Myers and wife, Crystal of Little Cypress, Jamie Myers of Port Neches, and Chris Myers of Houston, great grandchildren, Sloane Frederick of Houston, Sydney Frederick of Houston, Colton Myers and Adam Myers both of Little Cypress; sister-in-law, Kortez Sinclair of Carthage, Texas.
