Sampson Veronie

It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my Uncle Sammy.

Sampson Veronie was born July 9, 1952, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to his parents Lyman and Corita Veronie.  He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Arthur, Texas in 1971.  

He went to join the US Navy where he was stationed on a naval vessel in the Mediterranean Sea and was honorably discharged.  He worked at Velsicol Chemical.  Sammy loved to ride his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family.  

He passed away in his sleep at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas on January 20, 2025 at 5:03 pm. 

 He is survived by his mother Corita Veronie, his 4 sisters Gail Paul, Darnell Guy, Brenda Veronie, and Nancy Rose; his many nieces, nephews, great nephews, and great nieces.

A visitation service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home,1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas.  A procession to Memory Gardens Cemetery at 3098 US 69 N, Nederland will lead to the Gazebo for a small graveside service.
