I am so sorry to hear about Sammy. I met him at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and realized we were distantly related. After that, every time I entered church I was greeted by Sammy with a hug. He was always so nice and I am so glad and blessed to have met him.

I met Sammy in 1967 when I was hired at KJAC-TV while still a high school student. He was a wonderful mentor to me who was always kind and gracious and who taught me a lot about broadcasting. Sammy had a terrific sense of humor and was well liked by everyone. My heartfelt condolences to his family. You are all in my prayers.
