Samuel Charles Tobias Samuel Charles Tobias, 79, of Bridge City, Texas passed away at his home Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was born on December 4, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Samuel Roedell Tobias and Mary Ellen Borland Tobias. Samuel had lived in this area for over 60 years and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Port Arthur where he served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the El Mina Shrine and the Cosmoplotian Lodge #872. He was retired from Chevron as a chemical engineer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Samuel was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Tobias and his sons, Russell Tobias and Charles Tobias. He is survived by his daughters, Marla DuBose and husband, Michael of Orangefield, and Mary Ellen, sons, Brian Lide and wife, Pam of Orangefield, and Michael Tobias, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
