Sandy Turner, 67, of Port Arthur, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at his residence. Sandy was born on August 20, 1949 to the late Curtis Turner and Thelma Henry Courville in Port Arthur, TX. He was in the National Guard and a retired machinist at Texaco in Port Arthur. Sandy was a member of Church on the Rock. He officiated at high school football, baseball and volleyball games for over 40 years and was also a longtime member of the Optimist Club in Port Arthur.
Sandy is survived by his wife, Donna Turner of Beaumont; daughters, Stacie Turner of Orlando, FL and Tricia Turner of Brazoria County; sons, Ed Turner and wife, Marcie of Fort Meyers, FL, Craig Turner and wife, Fanci of Austin, TX; sisters, Darlene Landry and husband, Steve of Port Neches, Tammy Courville and companion, William of Nederland; step-daughter, Heather Cheney of Vermont; step-son, Roger McLeon of Vermont; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Nolan Courville, whom he was raised by.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
