Sanford C. Stokes, 92, of Port Neches, Texas died Sunday, September 9, 2012 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Sanford was born March 28, 1920 in Andalusia, Alabama to Wright Stokes and Minnie Lee Rabren Stokes. He was a resident of Port Neches since 1959 and retired from BF Goodrich with 26 years of service. He was also a WWII US Army Veteran. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Sanford was preceded in death by his wife, Althia Stokes, son, Carlos Stokes and daughter, Drusilla Stokes. Surviving relatives include his son, Edward C. Stokes of Port Neches, Texas; grandchildren, Jason Stokes and wife Leisa of Beaumont, Texas; Angela Overly and husband Don of Hemphill, Texas; 5 great grandchildren, Jill, Anna-Grace, Devlin and Cayden Stokes, Jacob Wynn and niece, Virginia Hicks of Montgomery, Alabama.
