Sarah (Shirley) Jane Hilton, 77, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, November 4, 2013 after passing away at her home.
Shirley was born March 7, 1936 in Omaha, Texas. She lived in Port Neches since 1954. She attended Southside Baptist Church and was a member of Dorcas’ Sunday School Class.
She lived a happy, fulfilling life and her love for the Lord, her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren shined through as bright as a full moon on a clear night. She had a true love for the outdoors, her yard and flowerbeds. She loved the beauty and smell of roses and on special occasions would say, “All I need is a single red rose”. We will miss her charming ways.
Visitation will be at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. David Birdsong officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Raymond E. Hilton; her parents, Ernest Stout, Sr. and Mary Stout; her brothers, Ernest “Sonny” Stout Jr., Morris “Lucky” Stout and Billy Joe Stout; and sister, Joy Getzie.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Basham and husband Frank of Mont Belvieu, Tina Trahan and husband Lou of Port Neches; and devoted son, Ronald Hilton of Port Neches; granddaughters, Crystal Vickers and husband, Curtis of Beach City, Janine Marshall and husband, Justin of Frisco, Jeanie Basham of Baytown, Caitlin Trahan of Port Neches; and grandsons, Frank Basham Jr. of Mont Belvieu and Cory Trahan and wife, Brittany of Port Neches; great-grandchildren, Khyla, Cade and Kearston Vickers, Grace Basham, Jake and Jax Marshall; sister, Loretta Vieregge; brothers, Charles Stout, Jerry Stout and Billy Stout; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
