Shannon graduated from Lamar University and began her career as an art teacher, subsequently transitioning to real estate agent, relocation manager and director of a real estate training school in Cleveland, Ohio. Shannon passed away just a month before she and Victor would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary, as they were married on Dec. 19, 1959 in Beaumont, TX. Shannon had an artist's view of the world. Her appetite for new places and experiences was insatiable. Her family is blessed to still have with them her paintings that recount her life and her experiences. She was an art teacher in many places where they lived and loved nothing more than sharing her love of art with others. She has been recognized for her art in communities from Arizona to Texas and even Brazil. She and Victor lived life to the fullest and took three years of their lives to travel in their RV, finding new experiences and places to see before they retired to Granbury. She is survived by her husband, Victor, daughter and husband, Stacey and Mike Brunn and their children Shannon Marie and Chase, and son and wife, Allen and Alisa Smith and their children Nick and Sarah. Shannon will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends across the country, but her joy for life and love will linger on in her paintings and family. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. The web site iswww.theaftd.org in memory of Shannon McEachern Smith.
