Sharon Sue Fawcett

1949 ∼ 2025

Sharon Sue Fawcett, 75, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. Born on August 20, 1949, in Port Arthur, Texas, Sharon lived a life that was rich in love, service, and dedication to her family.

For over 30 years, Sharon served as a Registered Nurse, a profession she embraced after becoming a nurse at the age of 42. Her compassionate care and commitment to her patients were hallmark traits of her career, where she contributed her skills at Renaissance Hospital and Doctors Hospital. Sharon’s ability to bring comfort to those in need truly marked her as not only a great nurse but also a remarkable human being.

Sharon was profoundly family-oriented, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Sunday dinners at her home became treasured traditions, where laughter, conversation, and great food were shared among relatives. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless, and she was a constant presence at their various activities, always encouraging and supporting them with pride.

In her personal life, Sharon found joy in simple pleasures, such as gardening and enjoying time on her riding lawnmower while tending to her yard. An avid animal lover, she welcomed many pets into her life, each becoming a cherished part of her family.

Sharon is survived by her children, Virginia Michelle Guerra and her husband, Roel of Groves; Kevin Fawcett and his wife, Lindsey of Houston; Alicia Kay Ramsey of Groves; and Brian Fawcett and his wife, Jaime of Groves. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Kayleigh, Rolie, Sean, Kate, Tori, Marley, and Addison, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Eula and Clyde Wing; her husband, Cecil Ray Fawcett, III; her sister, Regina Wing DeBlanc; and her nieces, Linda Martin Adams and Kimmie Martin Young.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home Groves, located at 5601 39th St, Groves, TX 77619. Michelle and family, please accept my condolences for the loss of your wonderful Mother. I spent a lot of my childhood in the Fawcett house and Mrs. Fawcett always made me feel welcomed. She was a very cool Mom and a wonderful person! I am really glad that I had the opportunity to send many happy days on Madison with the Fawcett family.

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped into the next room I am I and you are you Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, Speak to me in the easy way which you always used Put no difference in your tone, Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was, Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, Just around the corner. All is well. - Poem by HS Holland

I worked with Sharon at Doctor's Hospital many years ago. She was a strong woman and great nurse, who was very knowledgeable and helpful to me; as I was a newer nurse at the time. She was a great leader and was devoted to nursing and her patients. Prayers for her family and friends for peace and comfort. Sharon will be remembered.

This amazing woman will never be forgotten. She was an excellent woman, mother, grandmother and RN. The world could be on fire but Sharon was in full control of the fire and things settled down as she went about her work. She was respected by the nurses, the doctors and of course, the patients. God received a beautiful angel into His Kingdom. God bless this beautiful family.

To my friend. Sharon, you were so much more than a friend to me. Every day you taught me something new. Not only in nursing, but also in life. You taught me how to help people in need with more than just my nursing skills. Our talks every shift were not only pleasant, they were personal. You were always so caring and supportive to your patients, staff and me. Nursing and humanity have lost a truly caring and dedicated person. I love you my friend and will remember you forever. You will always live on in my heart. ❤️
