Sharon Dear Vandiver

Sharon Kay Dear Vandiver passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 74. She resided in Nederland, Texas. Sharon was known for her strength, grit and extraordinary resilience. Yet rivaling those traits throughout her life were heaping doses of playful silliness that kept many of us in stitches. Sharon cared deeply for her family; she had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sharon always carried a curiosity about her, particularly regarding faith. Her spiritual life recently brought her to a fuller commitment to following Christ through baptism.

Sharon is survived by numerous people who loved her dearly and were shaped by her care, including her son Jeromy, son and daughter-in-law Justin and Christie, son and daughter-in-law Jarred and Ashley, son Christian, granddaughter Kaylee and fiancé Ryan, granddaughter Kylie, grandson Montana, grandson Branson and wife Abby, granddaughter Christina, grandson Rylan, sister Lori and brother-in-law Gary Graham, Jr., great grandkids Aiden, Carter, Asher, Koen, Midnight, niece Natalie and husband Todd, niece Carrie, nephew Robert and wife Annie, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A gathering will be held to celebrate Sharon's life this Saturday, March 14th, at 1:30pm in Heritage Hall at the First Baptist Church of Groves.

This still does not feel real. We would message each other off and on, and, in her last message, she was wanting to see a good friend of hers, since Sharon moved to Nederland from Austin, Texas. I picked her up, had a nice visit with our friend. She will be dearly missed. Sending my condolences to all her family, & may peace and comfort be upon them at this very sad time. So glad we got a chance to get together. Will always love you, Sharon RIP, Arlene

Prayers to all her family members, she will be dearly missed. She was so sweet. I am so sad I did not follow through with a phone call last week when I was thinking of her. I love you Sharon, until we meet again💗.
