Sherwood Joseph Rees, 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Rose House in Port Arthur. He was born on September 7, 1927 in Sabine Pass to the late Harry Joseph Rees and Anaise Landry. He retired from Sun Marine Terminal as Superintendent of Operations.

Sherwood is survived by his sons, Charlie Rees of Groves, Harry Rees and his wife, Ruby of Port Neches, Martin Rees of Port Neches, Raymond Rees and his wife, Donna of Vidor, Ronnie Gebauer of Houston, and Keith Gebauer of Port Arthur; daughters, LaJaunda Williams and her husband, Harry of Nederland, and Gaytha Guillot and her husband, David of Nederland; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Charlene Smith Rees.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.
