Shirley Ruth Reddoch

Shirley Ruth Reddoch, 89, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Shirley was born on October 2, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas to Beatrice Lipschitz Reddoch and Horace J. Reddoch. She attended Chenier Business School and was a secretary and bookkeeper for Firestone Tires in Groves for many years and also at Lumberyard and Environmental Control. Shirley was a member of Cornerstone Church in Winnie and Church on the Rock Golden Triangle. She was a very talented artist at a young age. She had a love for cooking; a love for reading especially Christian Books. Shirley was an avid Bible study teacher at her church. She had a sarcastic humor and was fun to be around. Shirley had an exquisite taste in her wardrobe and her apartment. In fact, her apartment manager used her apartment to showcase in getting renters due to her having immaculate taste as a perfectionist. She was everybody’s biggest encourager. Shirley raised twin boys and learned American Sign Language in order to communicate with them and three more sons and one daughter. She also allowed two step children to move into our existing home for a total of ten children all summer long and every year.

Survivors include her children, Jim Hill and his wife, Shella of Nederland, Rick Hill and wife Pam of Georgetown, Sharon Hill-Rush of Port Neches; David Hill of Nederland and Mark Jackson of Austin; sister, Marian Quinn and her husband Charles Quinn of LaBelle, Texas; grandchildren, Steve Griffin, Joe Hill and wife Cameron, Daken Hill and wife Jamie, Jessica Moreau and husband Tom, Jared Hill and wife Haley, Ryan Hill, Mason Hill, Zech Rush and his companion Grazzia and twelve great grandchildren; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Horace J. and Beatrice Lipschitz Reddoch; son, Kenny Jackson and son-in-law, Billy Rush.

A Chapel Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Graveside service will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Steve Griffin, Joe Hill, Daken Hill, Jared Hill, Mason Hill and Zech Rush.. Serving as an Honorary Pallbearer will be Tom Moreau.
