Shirley Ann Stokes, 77, of Groves, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Shirley was born August 24, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas to Elva C. Stokes and Blanche Travis Stokes, and was raised by her step-father William Joyner. She was a lifelong area resident and lifelong member of Central Baptist Church of Port Arthur. Survivors include her first cousin, Dr. Gene Jones and his wife Anna Frances of Groves; second cousins, Garrett Jones and his wife Rebecca of Nederland, Sharon Knighton and her daughter Heather Knighton of Groves, and Randy Jones of Houston; her aunt , Louise Travis of California; cousins, Charles Travis of California, Skipper Travis, Bobby Travis, Carol Travis all of Florida. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Phil Sigman officiating. Burial following at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
