She was a wonderful wife and mother to her family. I am so thankful that the Lord allowed me to be a part of the Watson family while I was in high school. He knew I needed Christ in my life and he used this family to lead me to a relationship with Him. I am forever indebted to Doyle, Shirley, Melanie, Lori, and Brad for sharing the love of Christ with me. With Love in Christ, Wayne Hale

I remember Shirley in college as a wonderful young woman. Although I have had no contact with her since those days, it is no surprise that she lived her life as she did. We were born about 3 weeks apart, so her death reminds me that I am to continue practicing good stewardship of my remaining earthbound days. May all of the family be nourished by the fruit of her remarkable life. That I learned of her death is purely an accident from the human perspective. Perhaps there is some providence at play as well. Shirley was such a sweet lady. I got to know her when I was involved in the In Touch Sunday School Class ministry. She will be missed and I want to share with the family, she will not be forgotten, but kept safely in our hearts.
