Shirley Broussard Willett, 86, of Groves, Texas passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 in Beaumont, Texas. Shirley was born on September 14, 1935 to the late, Eric A. Broussard and Alice Theriot Broussard.

Shirley worked at Mobile Oil as a Payroll Clerk and retired with 35 years of service. She also spend many years working for Dillard’s Department Stores. Shirley had a passion for dancing, she also loved to shop and bake.

Those left to cherish Shirley’s memory include her son, Greg Sonnier of Port Neches, Texas; brother, Eric A. Broussard Jr. and his wife, Sue of College Station, Texas; step-son, Paul Willett; step-daughter, Rena Pruett; grandson. Dustin Willett; granddaughters, Erin Rinando Culp, Krystle Dohmann, Rebbecca Kaullen, Deanndra Sherman and Kirsten Withers; and her loving nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Eric A. Broussard and Alice Theriot Broussard; her former husband, Glenn Sonnier; her husband, Jean Willett; son, Gary Glenn Sonnier; and her sister, Alice Morton.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Tuesday evening, March 22, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. also at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with Father J.C. Coon, Officiant.
