Shirley Allison Wolf, 89, of Port Neches passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was a native and lifelong resident of Port Neches. Shirley was born November 27, 1932, in Port Neches, Texas to Janie Elizabeth (Spence) Allison and Thomas Wright Allison. Shirley Graduated high school with the Class of 1951 at Port Neches High School. She was the first of 4 generations to Graduate from PN-G and she adamantly loved her PN-G Indians and especially the Friday night lights of Football.
Shirley was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Port Neches. Family was the most important thing to her, along with the love she had for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Shirley was a strong and independent woman who always put others ahead of herself. She was the epitome of the word “strength.” Shirley enjoyed maintaining her yard and spending quality time with her family. Shirley retired from Fina Refinery in Port Arthur as a janitor. Shirley also retired from the funeral industry after 20 plus years of service as a funeral assistant for Pat A. Riley Funeral Home and Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Shirley’s love and dedication for others will be missed by all that loved her.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Janie and Thomas Allison; son, Michael Wolf; husband, Bert Wolf; brothers, Norman Allison and Clyde Allison; sister, Mildred Gray and niece, Sandra Gray.
Those left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her beloved daughter, Kim Lamoyne Woodward and her husband, Jim of Port Neches, TX; granddaughters, Janie Elizabeth Jasper and Husband Retired 1SG William “Billy” Jasper of Port Neches and Kacie Ann Borel and Husband Damian of Orange, TX. great-grandchildren, Colton Thomas Songers, Brynn Allison Borel, Gray Marie Borel and Arley Ann Borel; sister, Bertie Phelps; brothers, Garland Allison and Jerry Allison.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2022, at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A graveside service to honor Shirley will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
