Shaun Canty Land, a dedicated father, son and brother, passed away on July 30, 2024, in Galveston, Texas. He was born on April 12, 1979, in Port Arthur, Texas. Shaun graduated from Nederland High School and obtained a master's degree from the University of Houston.

      Shaun was known for his intelligence and sense of humor. He had a contagious smile that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Shaun's hobbies included reading and writing; activities he pursued with great passion.

      One of Shaun's proudest accomplishments was his role as a devoted father. His children, Rhett, Emma, and Luke were the light of his life. Shaun made it a priority to actively participate in all their extracurricular activities. He also shared a deep bond with his parents, Jenelle and Archie J. Land, Jr. and his sister, Ashlie.

       In mourning his loss, Shaun leaves behind his loving parents; cherished children; and his beloved sister, Ashlie Morales and her husband Manny; and his nieces, Ella and Olivia Morales. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Delzora Trahan; Archie J. Land, Sr., Lucille Land and Myrtis Land; as well as his uncle, Archie "Punky" Land.

      The untimely passing of Shaun has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be treasured by all who were touched by his kindness and unwavering love for his family. Shaun will be remembered for the joy he brought to others and the impact he made during his lifetime.

      A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Shaun’s Life to begin at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland.
