Sidney Joseph “Jesse Stuart” Marceaux, 78, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas with his loving family at his side.
Sidney was born on March 6, 1945, to Eula Mae Schexnider Marceaux and Willis Marceaux. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of the Catholic Faith and a retired manager at Port Neches Towing for over forty years. Sidney was also a musician who went by the name of Jesse Stuart. Many people, family and friends actually think that is his real name. He performed under that name with his band, Ridin’ High Band, for many years, after beginning his music career at the age of 8. Sidney had an unmeasured love for his family, his friends and life itself. The loss of Sidney will leave a great emptiness in this world.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years and the love of his life, Kristy Moran Marceaux of Port Neches; children, Caleb Marceaux and wife Nohemi, of Port Neches,Texas, Denise Scharmen and husband Rob, of Cantonment, Florida and Karen Marceaux and partner George Glass, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; his sister and best friend, Rita Marceaux of Morgan City, Louisiana; grandchildren, Aaron Savant and wife Patricia, Kira Rougeau and husband Fabian, Seth Savant, Matthew Savant and wife Morgan, Aarien Christoper Marceaux and wife Penelope, Ariella Marceaux and Noah Marceaux. Nine great-grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews.
Also, he is survived by his in-laws, Rodney and Marie Moran of Bridge City, TX, and his sister-in-law, caretaker and guard dog, Vickie Moran of Groves, TX.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Eula Mae Marceaux; sons, Joseph Marceaux and Cory Marceaux.
A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2023, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland with a gathering of family and friends to take place from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Melancon-Levingston Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Harrington Cemetery in Forked Island, Louisiana.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Caleb Marceaux, Craig Broussard, Donny Broussard, Jordan Moran, Brian Moran and Jacob Frazee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Campbell and Dean Marks.
