Sidney Louis Vicknair, Sr.

Sidney Louis Vicknair, Sr., age 94 of Groves passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Sidney (Vick) was born in Parks, LA on November 9, 1917. Vick worked as an operator at Texaco for 39 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargent from 1940 thru 1945 and is a Purple Heart Recipient. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Betty Lou Rogers Vicknair and Byron Adelle Magouirk Vicknair; son, Vance Vicknair; daughter, Sylvia Vicknair and baby daughter, Vicky Lynn Vicknair; and sister, Lucie Rieve. He is survived by his son, Sidney L. Vicknair, Jr. (Rusty) and wife Sharon of Beaumont, TX, granddaughters Cindy Magouirk of Houston, TX and Jackie Kuchar and husband Jeff of Groves, TX; and numerous great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, TX with Reverend Jimmy Robbins officiating..
