Sophia Lizette Campbell

Sophia Lizette Campbell, 56, of Nederland passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at her residence in Nederland with her loving family at her side.

Sophia was born on March 14, 1965, in Nederland, Texas to Christine Watson Campbell and Louis Campbell. One of Sophia’s goals in life was to graduate from high school and she achieved that goal. Sophia was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland. Some of her favorite things to do in life were riding around in the car, going bowling and to the movies and she loved to dance, especially with her father Louis who said she would dance until his feet hurt.

Survivors include her parents, Louis and Christine Campbell of Nederland; sisters, Delena Frederick and her husband Todd of Nederland and Lucine King and her husband Jim of Spring, Texas; niece, Cierra Frederick and her husband Michael Weber; nephews, Trenton King, Logan King and Micah Frederick and many cousins who loved her dearly. Sophia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Christy and Donie Watson and Otto and Myrtle Campbell.

A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Melancons Funeral Home in Nederland with a Celebration of Life Service to Honor Sophia Lizette Campbell to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.

If you’d like, the family asks that you share memories with them to reflect on. A card basket will be at the funeral home next to registration book. A bereavement dinner will follow the burial at Wesley United Methodist Church located at 3515 Helena, Nederland, TX 77627 to celebrate the Life that Sophia lived.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Gerall Kahla, Beau Kahla, Michael Weber, Trenton King, Micah Frederick and Logan King.

The family would to thank Kami, Cassandra and the entire Altus Hospice staff for their love and care they provided to our loving daughter, sister and family member who we loved dearly. Also pastor Warren Wargo for the love and support he gave Sophia in her final days.
