Spencer Mitchael DeRon

1992 ∼ 2024

Spencer Mitchael DeRon

Spencer Mitchael DeRon passed away on January 19, 2024.

Spencer was born on April 26, 1992 in Port Arthur, Texas. He spent his childhood delighting those around him – his upbeat, talkative nature was infectious.

Spencer’s love of sports was undeniable. He grew up playing baseball, basketball, and football. On any given Saturday, you could find him cheering on his favorite college football team, enjoying a round of golf with friends, or playing a game of horse with his brother in the family driveway.

Spencer will be remembered for his kind and loving heart. He greeted you with a smile and a hug. He was the first person to laugh along with your jokes. He never met a dog that he didn’t love and spoil. He always made an effort to uplift those he loved – cheering on the accomplishments of his friends and family and always having a compliment for those around him.

Spencer’s love and generosity were without equal. He asked for little from others, but would be the first person to volunteer to help anyone in need. His family and friends will cherish their memories with him and look to carry on his spirit.

Spencer is survived by his parents, Glen and Donna DeRon; his brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Ashley DeRon; his niece, Emery DeRon; and his Aunt Sherrie Reid.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Jed Foundation (jedfoundation.org).

Spencer was such a bright and shining star that will shine forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was a remarkable gem, a gifted athlete, and a kind and loving friend to all. He always had a hug and a smile. He and Nathan generously guided their “cousins,” Alex and Matthew Meyers, through muddy times at the beach, crabbing, and back flips into the pool. He will be remembered forever by so many - friends and family - who adored him and loved his positive spirit. The heavens have gained an angel.
