Stella Mae Alford, 70, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Senior Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Port Arthur, Texas. Stella was born November 22, 1946 in Abbeville, Louisiana to Olise Hulin and Lula Primeaux Hulin. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Groves. Stella was a retired Teller with Community Bank and she had also worked at Howards Grocery. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Groves with Reverend Travis Cox officiating. Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alford. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Kim George and husband Gordon of Port Neches, Texas; son, Shon Werner and wife Melanie of Bridge City, Texas; sisters, Susan Billiot and husband Dan of Port Neches, Texas; Leona Rogers and husband Steve of Sioux City, Iowa; and Yvonne Combs of Vidor, Texas; brothers, Rodney Hulin of Lumberton, Texas; Kenneth Hulin of Austin, Texas; and four grandchildren.
