Stella Marie Block, 94, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Forever Young Assisted Living in Groves, Texas. Stella was born June 23, 1925 in Bell City, Louisiana to John Moore and Elodie Verret Moore. She was a resident of this area for 91 years and a member of First Baptist Church in Port Neches. Stella retired from Port Neches-Groves ISD. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jason Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Stella was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Otis Block, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Block. Surviving relatives include her 2 daughters, Carolyn Lane and husband Paul, Brenda Acord and husband Joel all of Port Neches, Texas; son, Vaughn Block of Groves, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Brenda and Carolyn, we are just seeing this. We are so very sorry. We haven't been back to Texas for years or we'd certainly have contacted her. Please accept our sincere sympathy from the leJune family. Prayers for you all. Stella was a truly wonderful person.

I will always remember Mrs Block (that is how I addressed her) standing in the hall at FBCPN so very glad to see everyone. She made me feel loved and I am sure she never knew my name. Sympathy goes out to her family and especially my friends Brenda Acord and Carolyn Lane.
