With deep sorrow, we share the news of the passing of Stephenie Noble Schlett, a respected educator, dedicated family member, and treasured friend, who left us on October 30, 2024. Born on July 12, 1965, in Nederland, Stephenie led a life marked by love, compassion, and an extraordinary commitment to her community.

Stephenie was a dedicated educator for over thirty years, touching the lives of countless students who she loved dearly. Her impressive career includes awards such as the Reaud Excellence in Education award in 2019, Student Council Junior Teacher of the Year in 2016, Junior Achievement Teacher of the Year in 2011, and Nederland High School Teacher of the Year in 2010. She started the AVID program at NISD and served as the AVID District Director for many years, where she helped hundreds of students realize their full potential. While she cherished her time in the classroom, teaching U.S. History and Economics, in the more recent years she broadened her impact by serving as the high school testing coordinator. Stephenie also shared her enthusiasm and love of the Nederland Bulldogs by serving as the Varsity Cheer sponsor at Nederland High School.

Stephenie is remembered fondly not just for her accolades but for the joy she brought to the lives of those around her. She was deeply devoted to her family, caring for her husband Rocky and her children Abbie, Stephen, and Katherine. She derived immense joy and pride from her grandchildren—Gloria Parrott, Jaxson Stampley, Lynnon Stampley, and Margot McKinley—whose lives she profoundly touched with her love and wisdom. Stephenie was described as a “rock” by many, always there to provide a shoulder to cry on and offer unwavering support during times of need. Her home was a sanctuary for friends, family, and former students who had become like family to her.

Stephenie was known for her warm and friendly nature, treating everyone she met as a friend. During her visits to Galveston on the weekends, she quickly formed a wide circle of friends who cherished her deeply. She had an undeniable zest for life, always loving to plan and host gatherings, decorate for every holiday, and orchestrate occasions that brought joy to all her loved ones. With a unique sense of style, Stephenie delighted in dressing up and coordinating matching outfits for her family. Stephenie leaves a legacy of wonderful memories filled with laughter and love.

Stephenie pursued her education with great enthusiasm, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University. She was in the process of completing her master’s in history, demonstrating her lifelong dedication to learning and growth.

Stephenie is survived by her husband, Rocky Schlett; mother, Karen Sue Noble; daughter, Abbie Schlett; son, Stephen Schlett and wife Hannah; daughter, Katherine Schlett; beloved grandchildren, Gloria Parrott, Jaxson Stampley, Lynnon Stampley, and Margot McKinley. She was preceded in death by her father and namesake, Stephen Craig Noble.
