I was in Texas from Michigan visiting my family when my cousin Bear introduced me to Steve in 1985. He was a guy that loved building street rods, going to rod run shows, telling jokes and good look'in WOMEN! Ha He loved his job so much that he never took a vacation. I know this because I often wanted him to come to Michigan to visit. Steve was a very easy going laid back kind of guy. He had strong ideas of how life would be and how to treat people with truth and honesty. He was truly someone that I could call day or night and was always there to listen to me rant and rave or to just talk about life. Sometimes the conversations would last 3 minutes and other times 2 hrs. I remember one time when I found the Eagles in concert on tv, so he found it too and we watched it together. One of his favorite song was desperado. I will be thinking of you here in Michigan this week end and sending you a smile. Steven I will miss our conversations and surely your jokes and kind words. I Love You my friend...so this is not good bye.. its until we meet again my little desperado.

We met Steve about 4 or 5 months ago when I started restoring our 1957 Chevy Bel Air. He was planning on doing some work on it for me but got too sick. That didn't keep him from helping me with problem solving and advice. Enjoyed going by the garage and just talking to him. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Steve. Bob and Reggie Horne
