Steve Wells

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steve Wells, who departed this life on June 29, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by his family just shy of his 79th birthday. Steve was born on July 5, 1947, in Port Arthur, Texas, and lived a life filled with warmth, dedication, and a deep love for his family and passions.

He enjoyed his annual crawfish boil and 4th of July celebration for 20 + years, where he could spend time with family and friends who he loved so much. Most important, spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was so proud of all his grandchildren's accomplishments. He also loved spending time and travelling with the love of his life, Gloria.

Steve was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and servant to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Steve lived each day to the fullest through the power of the Holy Spirit

Steve was a man of many interests, known for his dedication as a Case Knife collector and ambassador, a hobby he pursued with great enthusiasm. He found immense joy in the outdoors, whether he was hunting or fishing. His culinary skills were legendary, especially his barbecuing and smoking meats, which brought much delight to family and friends at countless gatherings.

From a young age, Steve embraced a spirit of service and camaraderie. He was an active Boy Scout and Explorer Scout, and served as an Altar Boy. His athletic talents shone on the football field, where he played with enthusiasm and team spirit. These early experiences helped shape the kind, community-minded man he became.

Steve leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife of 31 years, Gloria Wells. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Carson Wells of Groves, and Allen Weaver and his wife, Brittney of Ruston, Louisiana, as well as his daughter, Denise Foster and her husband, Brandon of Groves. His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Dylan George, Dezarae Thibodeaux, Jadyn Wells, Colton Wells, Brandon Weaver, Bailey Weaver, Aden Weaver, and Addison Weaver. Steve was preceded in death by his beloved parents, J.W. and Milly Wells.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Steve touched are invited to honor his memory with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with rosary to be held at 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m.., all taking place at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, Texas. Entombment will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity in Steve's name.
