Steven Alvin Morris

1956 ∼ 2013

A Memorial Service for Steven Alvin Morris, 56, of Port Acres, will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home on Ave H, in Nederland. Ray Morgan of Latter Rain Ministries will officiate Steven’s Celebration of Life.

Steven Morris went to be with his Lord and loved ones on December 11, 2013.

Steven is a native of Port Acres. He was born on July 2, 1956 to Alvin Art and Barbara J. Morris. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1975 and began his career with Texaco, later to be named Huntsman. Steven was an Operator and worked the majority of his career in the Water Treatment Plant. He was the owner of M & M Repair service for many years.

Steven loved hunting squirrel in Southeast Texas Woods. He began hunting with his father at a very young age. Steven still has notebooks detailing many of their hunts. Another favorite was his love for fishing. He was very proud when entertaining family and friends on local waterways for a day or days of fishing! Once he became unable to participate in that, he would bend anyone’s ear he could telling his hunting and fishing stories!

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Art Morris. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Morris Maceiras; his daughter, Miranda Morris Hoke and son in law, Kevin Hoke; his son, Steven Alvin (SAM) Morris II; a sister, Barbara Staton, all living in the Port Arthur Area.

Please join us to celebrate the life of our loved one – Steven. We welcome your fond memories.

We want to thank our many family and friends for their prayers, calls, visits, food, for everything you have shared to ease our grief.

Condolences

Though your life on earth was short,we were blessed to have shared it with you. I was blessed to get to have seen you shortly before your leaving. I can imagine the fun your having now with your father, grandmother, and Darrel!!! We always regret a persons leaving but I count it as your blessing because your forever started the day you left us here and I can't imagine trying to hold someone back when eternity is such a massive amount of time.I can envision the mansion prepared by Jesus just for you and I can hear God saying... Well done my God and Faithful servant!! You will be missed but I would rather rejoice and shout God's praises that you got to heaven before me,so keep me a seat at the Masters table and I'll be there when my time has come!!!!

Cousin In Law Paula December 16, 2013
My husband, Darrell, always told me stories about the many adventures he had with his cousin, Steve. When Darrell got so sick, Steve was faithful to call and talk. If Darrell wasn't able to talk, Steve would just talk to me for a little while checking on Darrell. He came with Kim to see Darrell this summer. Darrell enjoyed their visit so very much. Steve was always sweet and kind to me and I will miss him. Paula
