It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steven Ray Rode, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on July 13, 2025, in Galveston, Texas. Born on October 17, 1988, in Port Arthur, Texas, Steven Ray lived a life that was vibrant and full of joy. He held the proud title of I. T. Technician, a profession that brought him great satisfaction and fulfillment, as he loved his work and excelled in his field.

Steven Ray was known for his warm spirit and engaging personality, and he was consistently described as “always a pleasure to be around.” His love for family was paramount, and those who knew him cherished the bright light he brought into their lives. Steven Ray's zest for life allowed him to forge enduring friendships and create unforgettable memories with all who had the fortune of crossing paths with him.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Mary Wactor of Port Neches; his father, Stephen Rode of Port Neches; his loving sister, Sabrina Claybar, and her husband, David, along with his cherished niece, Breelyn Louise Lemaire, and nephew, Keller Christian Claybar, all of Orange. Steven Ray's legacy will also be carried on by his extended family: Aunt Kathleen Wactor of Port Neches and her daughter, Tiffany Resch and her husband, Pete and their children, Kylie, Camber and Cassidy of Bridge City, Aunt Doris Ann Wellman of Beaumont, Aunt JoEllen Wactor of Nederland, Uncle Tommy Gene Wactor of Port Neches, Uncle Morris Wactor of Port Arthur, and cousin, David Ray Wactor of Nederland, all of whom held him dear in their hearts.

A Memorial Gathering in honor of Steven Ray Rode will be held on July 17, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 2001 Nall Street, Port Neches, Texas 77651. Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate Steven Ray's life and share their fond memories of him.

Steven Ray's presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

The moment I met Rode we instantly connected at sister and brother Steven touch my heart and so many ways I can't explain he was like a real brother to me and I was like a real sister to him we would love talk he would come over visit and not a day went by that he didn't call to check on me when he found out that I was a diabetic not a Valentine's went by not a birthday went by not aChristmas went by and he didn't call or have a gift for me he was always getting on me and I was always getting on him and if I knew the last hug I heard him on Friday was going to be the last hug and I love you I would have held on to you a little tighter bro I miss you so much you know forever being my heart you and my kids uncle they respected too I thank God for the time that he gave you with us get your rest baby brother until we meet again I love you and will miss you dearly

Steven was a good man he was my brother's best friend I remember him coming over to my house and play with my brother when they were kids God bless him and his family he will be missed

He will be dearly missed was a sweet person and would do anything for anyone he loved taking electronics apart then trying to fix them and put them back together fly high and rest with Jesus
