Sue Tims Lipe, 87, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on August 24, 1924 in McCool, Mississippi. Sue grew up in Boyle, MS where she graduated from Boyle High School in 1942. She attended and graduated in 1946 from Delta State Teachers College in Cleveland, MS. Sue was a longtime member of the United Methodist Temple and the Wesley Sunday School class, where she served on the Church Board and various committees, including delivering Meals on Wheels. While her daughters were growing up, Sue served as homeroom mother, member of the PTA and leader of their Bluebird and Camp Fire groups. She later served 10 years as the Executive Director of the Port Arthur Council of Camp Fire. She also was a member of the Board of Directors of the South Jefferson County United Way for many years. Sue is preceded in death her parents, W.I. and Amerdine Tims, her brother, Lowry Tims and her sister, Lorraine Tims Acord. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy Lipe and their daughters Martha Lipe Bodin and her husband Carl, Mary Catherine Lipe Herndon and her husband Dan; two grandchildren Ricky Bodin and Christy Bodin; four great-grandchildren Elissia Bodin, Kayson, Kenadie, and Kenson DuBois. She is also survived by her sisters Tillie Inman of Columbus, GA and Nina Crawley of Houston, TX. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at The United Methodist Temple in Port Arthur, Texas.
