Henrietta B. “Sue” Ritter, 82, of Lumberton, Texas, formerly of Nederland, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Sue was born February 5, 1940 in Iota, Louisiana to Inez and Henry Bourdier.
Sue was a parishioner of Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Lumberton and a devout Christian woman. She retired after sixteen years of service from KJAC Channel 4 as a sales representative.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay Bourdier and Inez “Simar” Bourdier; infant daughter, Shannon Denise Ritter and sister, Joyzelle Cary.
Those left to cherish Sue’s memory are her loving husband of sixty-two years, Kenneth Ritter of Lumberton, Texas; daughters, Joni Underwood and her husband, Jim of Nederland, Texas; Lori Duplissey and her husband, Jimmy of Lumberton, Texas; four grandchildren, Savanna Vizena and her husband, Mason; Meagan Duplissey, Matthew Duplissey and Michael Duplissey; great granddaughter, Valyn Vizena; sister, Kate Wolfford of Orange, Texas and brother, Freddie Bourdier and his wife, Sharon of Orange, Texas.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 12:30 p.m., at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. Rite of Committal will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
