Susan Briggs, 52, of Groves, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Officiating will be Reverend J.C. Coon.

Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves

Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves

Susan was born in Groves, Texas, on March 11, 1970, she was the daughter of Clay Dudley Reed Jr. and Peggy Leininger-Reed. She was a preschool teacher for St. Paul Lutheran Early Childhood for twenty-four years and Clubhouse Daycare for two years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clay D. Reed Jr., grandmothers, Marie Leininger and Mary Andrews, and her grandfather, Robert Leininger.

She is survived by her mother, Peggy Reed; daughter, Christin Simon and her husband Zak of Vinton, LA; son Josh Briggs and his wife Kathy of Port Neches, TX; three grandchildren, Caden Trahan, Kaleigh Trahan, and Bryce Rosas; her sister, Wendy Jarrell, and her husband Ronny as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A special thank you to Amy, Kevin, Emily, Theresa, Sarah, Selina, Christy, and DeAnna with Harbor Hospice for providing exceptional care, and for all of their kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
