Obituary
Susan Carriere Havard, 53, of Groves, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was born on November 26, 1958 in Port Arthur to Harold Carriere and Gwyndolin Tipps Carriere. Susan was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Port Arthur. She retired as a bank manager from Bank of America after 18 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Michael Due of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Harold Carriere and brother, John Carriere. She is survived by her husband, Jackie Havard of Groves, mother, Gwyndolin Tipps Carriere of Groves, daughter, Elizabeth Havard of Groves, son, Jereme Havard and wife, Kacy of Nederland, sister, Rachel Walker and husband, Stephen of Port Arthur, brother, David Carriere and wife, Jill of Port Neches, two grandchildren, Jake Havard and Kiley Havard and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. We just heard about Susan's passing. We met her at Bank of America several years ago. She was a delight. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, especially during these upcoming holidays. I noticed her birthdate is the 26th. Take comfort in God's grace and healing.

Jackie I am so sorry to hear about Susan ---- I was raised with her and I Remember having our beauty pageants at Her grandmothers house with the whole neighborhood and one thing meet her at middle school to ride her horse and feel off knocked my breathe out -- luved her dearly she always was smiling .. I just learned this morning of the passing of Susan, I am so sorry, you have my deepest sympathy, I loved Susan alot. She was such a wonderful person with a heart of gold, she has shared prayer with me several times since Kents passing and was there for me, she was one of Gods angels on earth and now in heaven. Bless her heart she suffered so long but what a reunion she is having with her savior now. My love to you Aunt Gwen, Rachael and David, her wonderful husband Jackie and her children and my deepest sympathy for your loss. Rest in peace Susan.

I only knew Mrs. Havard for a few days taking care of her in St. Mary's ICU, but I knew she was an amazing person by the overwhelming love and commitment her family demonstrated toward her. I prayed over her and for her daily, with her wooden cross in hand and I am very sad to hear of her passing. My heart goes out to all of her family and friends. You will all be in my prayers. We were once neighbors and knew Susan, Jackie,Jeremy and Elizabeth as a close and loving family, just good people. We were sad when they moved but not long after that Jeremy and his family moved in. Our sons have remained friends over the years. we were so sorry to hear Susan has passed we know she will be greatly missed by her wonderful family our prayers are with you.
