Gail Jordan

1954 ∼ 2025

Gail Jordan

Gail Jordan, a beloved educator and dedicated member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 71. Born on June 1, 1954, in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, she lived a life that exemplified her passion for teaching, animals, and the love of her family.

Gail's journey in education began after her graduation from St. Mary's Hall in San Antonio, Texas. She furthered her studies by earning a Bachelor's Degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, followed by obtaining her Teaching Certificate from Lamar University. She shared her knowledge and fostered a love for learning in countless students during her tenure as a teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur and Hampshire-Fannett High School. Her impact on her students and the community will be fondly remembered.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Gail found joy in various hobbies. She was an avid reader, a skilled cook, and an enthusiastic gardener, always nurturing both her plants and her love for animals, particularly horses, which held a special place in her heart. Gail lived her life with a generous spirit, deeply involved with her faith as a member of St. George's Episcopal Church.

Gail is survived by her loving sons, Kyle Jordan, and Kevin S. Jordan and his wife, Jamie. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to her grandchildren, Vivian and Morgan Jordan. Also cherishing her memory are her brother, Robert Estes, and step-siblings, Chris Reeser, Claudia Daigle, and Bob Reeser.

Gail was predeceased by her father, Leland Estes, her mother, Marry Freeman Reeser, her step-father, George C. Reeser, and her siblings, John Estes and Christopher Estes. The love and legacy she leaves behind will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to a life well-lived and a spirit that will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in honor of Gail to the ASPCA, https://secure.aspca.org/donate.

A graveside service will take place Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

I worked with Gail at Thomas Jefferson High School in the late 1990s and then later at Hamshire - Fannett High School in the early 2000s. She was such a joy to work with and I learned so much as a teacher from her. We had some great times that I will always cherish. Prayers for her family.

I first met Gail and her family, through their next door neighbor, Clark Cregar, whom I would later marry. That was over 50 years ago. We were roommates; we were friends who were in the habit of listening to each other, talking about everything big and small, and helping each other. I miss her so much, so much. Sincere sympathies to her family. One last gift Gail gave me was Buddy. She rescued a shabby stray dog from a busy highway and brought him to me as I was still mourning the death of a beloved pet, Katy. This act of kindness helped both Buddy and me. I miss Gail's kindness. I miss Gail. Thank you Gail for being such a good person and a good friend.
