Suzanne Elaine Holder, 68, Hemphill, Texas and former resident in Port Neches passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, at her residence in Hemphill.
Suzanne was born on February 26, 1954, in Port Arthur, Texas to Dorothy Mary Haeppel Simmons and Ambrose Simmons. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur in 1972 and was a member of Fairdale Baptist Church in Hemphill and a former member of Fellowship Baptist church in Nederland. Suzanne was a wife, mother, grandmother and recently became a first time great grandmother. She loved her family dearly and did everything she could for them. Suzanne loved taking pictures with her family and friends using any excuse to get people who she loved to get together and take pictures at family and church events. Suzanne was beloved by all her family, friends and church family and will be missed dearly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Jimmy Waldon Holder of Hemphill; children, Kerri Sheppard and her husband Josh of Port Neches, Stephanie Justice and her husband Chris of Dayton, Texas and Andy Holder and his wife Melissa of Nederland; sisters, Beverly Werner of Port Neches and Lorraine Simmons of Houston; brother, Kent David Simmons and his wife Rosalin of Dripping Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Kailey Sheppard, Kyler Sheppard, Ethan Holder, Emarie Holder, Emma Lee, Jackson Lee and Kaleb Justice; great grandson, Brooks Barrow and brother-in-law, Dale Bates of Port Arthur.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Jacqueline Buckner Holder, Arnold W. Holder, step-mother-in-law, Marguerite Bates Holder.
A visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland with a Funeral Service to Honor the Life of Suzanne Elaine Holder to be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Melancon Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Kyler Sheppard, Josh Sheppard, Chris Justice, Kaleb Justice, Ethan Holder and Darin Werner.
