Suzie Cooper Bradshaw, a cherished resident of Brookeland, Texas, was born on April 9, 1928, and peacefully departed this life on March 9, 2025, in Groves, Texas. Suzie's twilight hours were filled with the love and care of her family, a testament to the beautiful relationships she nurtured throughout her life.
A proud native of Brookeland, Suzie's early years were marked by her academic excellence as she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 1945 from Brookeland High School. This remarkable achievement laid the groundwork for a life filled with passion, commitment, and a spirit that invigorated those around her.
In her youth, Suzie exhibited a keen athleticism, playing both volleyball and basketball in school, accomplishments that were a source of pride for her and the community. Even later in life, her enthusiasm for volleyball continued at her church activity center, where she remained active and engaged long after her school days had passed.
Suzie was not only defined by her accomplishments and talents but also by her unwavering faith as a member of the Church of Christ. This dedication provided a guiding light throughout her life and instilled values of love, and kindness, that she shared generously with those around her.
In her personal life, Suzie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to her cherished husband of 61 years, Marvin Bradshaw, who has preceded her in death. Suzie's legacy lives on through her loving family: her sons, Jerry Bradshaw and his wife Debbie of Montgomery, Texas, and Bobby Bradshaw and his wife Cathy of Cleveland, Texas; her daughter, Robin Bradshaw of Groves, Texas; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Heather Toby, Nolan Bradshaw, Megan Moreno, Courtney Ferguson, Kristen Archibald, Hannah Parker, and Kendra Goering. Furthermore, she delighted in the joy of her fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored dearly.
Suzie's passing has been felt deeply by her family and friends, who remember her not only for her many accomplishments but for her warm spirit and loving heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertice and Jewel Cooper, brothers; Donnelly Cooper, Dwan Cooper, Jack Cooper, and sister, Jean Letney.
Family and friends are invited to honor Suzie’s remarkable life at a graveside service to be held at Brookeland Cemetery in Brookeland, Texas, on March 13, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am. As we gather to celebrate her extraordinary life and the indelible mark she has left on our hearts, we find solace in knowing her spirit will continue to inspire us each day.
