T.G. Gillespie, Jr., 91 of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at his home. T. G. was born December 1, 1924 in Port Arthur, Texas to Theodore Goodwin Gillespie, Sr. and Fern Matthews Gillespie. He was a lifelong area resident and member of the United Methodist Temple. He retired as an operator from Texaco after 38 years of service. He was a member of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 and was a Knight Templar 73rd degree. T. G. proudly served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Sue Gillespie. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Lyn Butler and her husband Rex of Arkansas; son, Drew Goodwin Gillespie of Port Arthur; three sisters, Patricia Daniels of Baton Rouge, LA, Dorthea Pearson and her husband Thomas of Kirbyville, Katherine Ann Roberts and her husband Scotty of Kirbyville; brother, Frank Allen Gillespie and his wife Chong Hui of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Kimberly Ann McComber and her husband Kasey of Katy, Donovan Drew Cozza of Katy, Brian Goodwin Gillespie of Beaumont; and great-grandson, Landyn John McComber. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2016 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

I knew Ted as a kind and gentle soul and was a dear friend of my Mother.I know that he is at peace now and at the Lord's side and with Sue for eternity. We will miss him dearly.

My husband and I met Ted at the Y and we knew him as a gentleman. He was always so kind and helpful to everyone. Prayers and sympathy to family and friends.

We have so many good memories of Ted and Sue, it is hard to pick just one. We love them dearly and feel honored to have known them and been loved by them. They will always be our Papa & Granny.
