Mr. T. S. Tyson, Jr. T. S. Tyson, Jr., 91, of Houston (formerly of Port Arthur) died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Houston Hospice. He was born on June 17, 1918 in Edna, Texas to Thompson S. Tyson, Sr. and Rosa Lee Power Tyson. He lived in Port Arthur for 62 years before moving to Houston 3 years ago and was a 1937 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. He also worked as a mate on a ship that went to Africa. T. S. was active in the Lakeview Methodist Church and retired from the Research Division of Texaco after 44 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and loved traveling in the U.S. and Canada. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Reverend Alan Van Hooser will be officiating. There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home. T. S. was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Bussey Tyson. He is survived by two daughters, Lora Ransonette and husband, Leonard of Houston and Sylvia Faughn of Houston, four grandchildren , four great grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter.
