Tammy Philen Reese

1963 ∼ 2024

Tammy Philen Reese, known for her infectious humor and heart of gold, passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 60 in Beaumont, Texas. Tammy, affectionately called "MiMi" by those closest to her, will always be remembered for her vibrant personality and unwavering kindness.

Born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 23, 1963, Tammy led a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She graduated from Port Neches Groves High School and later pursued a career as an insurance claims agent with Conn's. Her dedication to her work was evident to all who knew her.

Tammy had a passion for the arts - she loved drawing and indulging in various arts and crafts projects. Her love for creativity extended to shopping for the perfect supplies to bring her visions to life. Additionally, she had a deep appreciation for music, dance, and travel which enriched her life beyond measure.

In her leisure time, Tammy found solace at the beach where she would spend hours listening to the soothing sounds of the water while engrossed in a good book. She also cherished watching Hallmark movies that brought joy and warmth to her heart.

Those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Tammy knew that she had an extraordinary ability to forge lifelong friendships. Her immense sense of humor never failed to brighten the days of those around her. Furthermore, Tammy possessed a heart of gold that touched everyone she met; however, she was notorious for being unable to keep a secret - much to the amusement of all who knew her well.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Camella (Randazzo) Philen, and her loving husband, John "Kirt" Reese.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be treasured by her father, Billy R. Philen; siblings, Frank "Todd" Philen; Terry Philen Mayer; Troy Philen and his wife Michell; brother-in-law, Keith Reese and wife Stacy; mother-in-law, Faye Reese; as well as 10 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

A visitation in memory of Tammy will be held on Friday, April 12th, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with  a Celebration of Life ceremony to begin at 6:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home; 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas.

Tammy's light may have dimmed here on earth but it will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing she was cherished beyond words and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
