Terri Rochelle Walters, 49, of Kountze, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Terri was born on May 1, 1972, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Darlene Turner Landry and Steven James Landry. She graduated in 1990 from Thomas Jefferson High School and was a Catholic. As a young woman, Terri was a superb athlete. She played softball and was an excellent pitcher. Later in life, she served as a pitching coach. Terri loved the Dallas Cowboys and was an avid fan. She had a kind soul—creative and intelligent, and generous to a fault with a giving and loving heart. Terri lived to serve others, especially those who she could see needed help. She was a loyal person toward whom people gravitated. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother. Everyone felt blessed to have Terri in their lives, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Walters, Sr. of Kountze; mother, Darlene Landry of Port Neches; daughters, Kristen Herrin and her husband, Dalton of Kountze; Jennifer Walters-Lindsey and her husband, Jeremy of Silsbee; and Baillie Zinis and her husband, Alex, of Silsbee; sons, Jeffrey Walters, Jr.; and Jon P. Doyle of Groves; brother, Bryan Landry, and his husband, Michael Talbot, of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Jaxon, Wyatt, Aiden, Elizabeth, Aubree, Harpper and Salem. Terri was preceded in death by her father, Steven.
Visitation will take place from noon until 1:30 p.m. with a rosary to immediately follow, and a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches, Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery in Kountze, Texas, immediately after Mass under the direction of Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.
A bereavement dinner (following the burial) furnished by the Apostolic Church of Beaumont, Texas, will be held at 932 Richardson Road, Kountze, TX 77625 in memory of Terri and to honor her life.
